Do you want to learn how to
You feel vulnerable and want to defend yourself and your family.
You want an intense workout that builds muscle and increases dexterity.
You want the self-esteem boost that comes with knowing you can fight.
The dangers of the world are endless
Learning to defend yourself is about more than simply wielding a weapon. The truth is that amateurs who have weapons end up getting hurt with them more often than predators do – and that’s a real problem. There’s no point in arming yourself if you’re not also in the right condition to be able to act if you or someone you love is threatened.
Krav Maga is popular because it takes self-defense and turns it into an art form.
you will grow with every class!
Krav Maga teaches you how to defend yourself by building on your body’s natural reactions to being attacked and giving you the tools – and the strength – to disarm and defeat your opponents. As you train, you’ll build stamina and hone your reflexes until you are a fighting machine.
Defend Yourself in Any Situation
Nobody wants to be the victim of a crime, and yet it happens to people every day. The best way to avoid being harmed is to know how to defend yourself.
Krav Maga training emphasizes teaching students how to react in real-life situations. It’s not theoretical – it’s practical and effective.
You won’t have to worry about figuring out how to translate your Krav Maga training outside of the dojo, because our instructors will help you do it.
Krav Maga is a Killer Workout
It can be hard to get a great workout without someone to push you. If you want to be a total badass, the treadmill isn’t going to get you there.
Krav Maga is intense...but FUN! Repetitive kicking and punching burn a ton of calories, and testing to move up a level requires mental and physical toughness. You’ll use every muscle.
Whether you want to lose weight or just get in the best physical shape of your life, Krav Maga can help you do it.
Practical Self-Defense at its Best
One of the hardest things about learning self-defense is overcoming your natural instincts to learn new moves.
Krav Maga works with those instincts – such as bringing your hands up to protect your face – and turns them into powerful moves that allow you to defend yourself and drive attackers away.
You’ll learn to use the tools you have and combine them with traditional martial arts and other forms of fighting.
Relieve Stress and Anxiety
We all have to deal with stress and anxiety in our lives – from work, family, and everything else. You need to have a healthy outlet for it to stay healthy.
Krav Maga banishes stress by burning it off. When you’re working out, you need to give over your body and mind to the process. There’s no room for worrying.
By the time you’re done working out, you’ll be flooded with endorphins and feeling a serious sense of accomplishment – and your stress will be under control.
I have been a student at Master Overbey's for several years, and have observed classe, as well. He affords equal courtesy and respect to every student regardless of their skill level or advancement. He instills the same, and students respond well to his teaching. I can say with conviction that you, or your child, will be the better for his teaching. His family exhibits the same dedications.
I have been so impressed with Master Overbey and everyone who works with him. My son has learned a lot, improved his concentration at school and has become even more polite while having a ton of fun. He has also attended the summer camps and day camps when school happens to have a day off. He loved the summer camp so much this year that he can't wait for next summer so he can do it again. If you are looking for something that helps your child become a well rounded person and a place that rewards their students for getting good grades, doing good deeds and reading on top of teaching them self defense skills and teaching an anti-bullying message, this is definately where you want to have them go!
Master Overbey's program is the best! Our oldest has been attending classes for about a year and a half now and has learned so much about respect, safety, and focus along with technique. We just started his 4 yr old brother and I am amazed every class how well he participates and how Master Overbey makes the class material pertain to any age group- even a preschooler!
My two children, 6 and 5, have been going here for almost a year and a half. My daughter showed early markers for ADD, and the psychologist who tested her recommended martial arts to help her learn focus. The difference in her over the last year is amazing. She is listening more, and her goal is to be a pink power ranger (or to get a black belt like Noah, one of the older kids there!).
The best part of the school is that the kids there are wonderful - even the older kids are respectful, and are patient and kind to my younger ones. I really think this is a special place. The instructors use role modeling and patience, rather than intimidation or shame, to get the best from the kids. There are older kids who help with every class, and to a one they are all great kids. I can't overemphasize how much I appreciate this place as a safe place for my kids to learn life skills and to be good citizens.
